My Story
Rev. Rebecca J. Craig is a pastor, artist, author, and former Disney Feature Animation story developer whose work spans the intersections of creativity, theology, and justice. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Rebecca brings a storyteller’s imagination and a pastor’s heart to everything she creates—from the pulpit to the page to the canvas.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (B.A. in Journalism) and Luther Seminary (Master of Divinity), Rebecca blends the disciplines of narrative craft and biblical scholarship in creative ways. Her diverse background in film and ministry allows her to reframe sacred stories with clarity, depth, and emotional resonance.

She is the author of Once Upon a Nightmare: Through the Looking Glass of Narcissistic Abuse, a vulnerable and courageous account of surviving spiritual and emotional abuse; and Through Her Eyes: Biblical Women Speak, an imaginative anthology that gives voice to twenty-five women of scripture. She is also the illustrator of the children’s book Monty: A Tale of No Tail by A.H. Kay.

Known for her advocacy on behalf of survivors, marginalized communities, and overlooked voices in the church, Rebecca is passionate about dismantling harmful narratives and amplifying those that bring healing, wholeness, and truth. Her work as both preacher and artist invites others to see themselves—and the Divine—in new and transformative ways.

When she’s not writing or creating art that speaks to the soul, you’ll find her preaching, teaching, leading retreats, playing trivia, swimming, reading or watching her preferred genres of sci-fi/fantasy, or collaborating with justice-centered ministries. She serves a congregaton in Northeast Florida with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Gracie, where she continues to tell stories that matter.
